Concrete Services was selected as a design-assist Subcontractor on an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team for Sutter Medical’s new hospital facility in Santa Rosa. The IPD method is based on LEAN principles for all design and construction of the project. The team consists of the Owner, Architect, Engineers, Consultants, CM/GC and select design assist subcontractors. This strategy requires a high level of collaborative participation by all members involved.

The project, a new 182,329 square foot 2-story replacement hospital, central utility plant and loading dock with MRI pad, is in the design phase now with an estimated ground breaking of July, 1, 2011.

The concrete work consists of large grade beam foundations on a surcharged building pad, with five elevator pits, and slab on metal decking. The total mass excavation will be over 8,000 cubic yards, with 7,000 cubic yards of concrete in the foundation, 2,500 in slab on grade and 3,000 in slab on deck.
