Hospital Tower Expansion at Kaiser South Sacramento

Sacramento, CA

This expansion is located on the Kaiser South Sacramento Medical Center Campus.  Work consists of a new 158,000-square-foot six-story hospital bed tower, which includes a central hospital entryway, admitting, medical/surgery patient beds, 30 intensive care units, imaging, cardiac cath lab and inpatient-outpatient pharmacies.

There was a total of 1,800-cubic-yards of concrete foundation, 750-cubic-yards of slab-on-grade concrete, 750-cubic-yards of walls and 155,000-square-feet of elevated decks.

Concrete Services was able to save Kaiser time and money by using sloped excavation, in conjunction with the use of lean mix concrete.  This way, we were able to stabilize the soil without the use of shoring.
